U.S. House Votes to Extend Transportation Reauthorization Until September
April 2012
The U.S. House voted in late March to extend SAFETEA-LU for 90 days to allow the body to rework and gain support for its own five-year reauthorization proposal, rather than discuss the Senate passed two-year version. In early April, the U.S. House voted again to extend SAFETEA-LU through September, to allow for conference between the House and Senate on passing transportation authorization legislation. AGC of America supports this strategy, as it will hopefully mean the passage of transportation authorization legislation by the end of the year. A more in-depth look at the House's most recent extension legislation is in the April 30th issue of the AGC of NH Newsletter.
